I Am Student Project
Last week, my Carver student and I made a lot of progress on her I Am project. We have not had a ton of time to work on it in the previous weeks due to illness and the weather. Nevertheless, she was excited to get started with me. We took the time to research more about her home state, Pennsylvania. We looked up pictures that reminded her of her hometown there because she doesn't remember too much about it because she was so young when she lived there. She talked about her grandfather who lived there and how she used to live with him before moving to Iowa. I also learned some more about her favorite colors and fonts to use when creating things on the computer. I plan on using this information and the photos we have found through our investigations to use on the final product. Right now, I am letting her take control of the project so that she can express herself in any way she sees fit, and then I will go back through and put together a more cohesive final project. I am trying to stay away from putting any restrictions on what she can and cannot include in the project because I would rather have too much information about her than not enough. I have enjoyed getting to know her so far and am looking forward to continuing this in the future.
